About Connections

Welcome to Connections! 

My name is Melissa Posthauer and I cannot wait to meet you and your little dancer! I created Connections because I wanted a safe space for my students to feel empowered and comfortable to reach their highest potential. Dance is for anyone and everyone that can commit themselves to the craft; and I am ecstatic to provide an environment where they can be themselves.

A little about me... I’ve been dancing since I was a young girl and have been doing it professionally for over 30 years. I have a BFA in Dance from SUNY Brockport and studied under many companies such as Jose Limon, Garth Fagan, and The Rochester City Ballet. Through my years of teaching dance for various other studios I have also owned and ran my own. My original studio, Mountains in Motion, ran for 12 years in New York where we taught over 300 dancers each week. After moving to the area in 2013, I grew the dance program at the Rocky Run YMCA from 30 students & 5 classes per week to 350 students & 27 classes per week over the course of 7 years. Connections is my newest adventure and I cannot wait to see the great things we accomplish!
